What are Phone Numbers

Phone numbers are assigned to accounts at creation. An account can have one or many phone numbers.

Phone numbers are the source of outbound voice calls and text messages. They also receive inbound calls and messages.

Phone numbers can be configured in one of four ways:

IVR Phone Line

This configuration forwards inbound calls based on the option selected by the caller. Using this configuration works well when you need to forward calls to external phone numbers or to other Connect Rocket phone lines. Think about using IVR lines for handing calls off to Duty Officers, EOC Sections or departments within an organization.

Direct Connect Phone Line

This configuration connects a member of your team with an inbound caller and offers a single workflow as a failover. Using this configuration works well when you need a phone line to behave the same way, every time it is activated by a triggering event. Direct Connect phone lines work well for operations centres and for activating teams or specific assets within your organization.

Single Purpose Phone Line

This configuration initiates a single workflow and is triggered via a recorded voice message and/or inbound text message. Using this configuration works well when you need a phone line to behave the same way, every time it is activated by a triggering event. Single Purpose phone lines work well for operations centres and for activating teams or specific assets within your organization.

Multi Purpose Phone Line

This configuration can initiate multiple workflows and is activated via telephone keypad, inbound text message, application interface or on a schedule. Using this configuration works well when you want to use a phone line for more than one use case. Multi Purpose phone lines work well for diverse operations within an organization and provides the most diverse and flexible use of a phone line. Multi Purpose phone lines are the work horse of Connect Rocket.
