Answer a VoIP Call (Android)

Voice over IP calls are in Beta and not yet available. To register, please contact us.

Note that the many variations in Android may mean that what you see on your device differs from what is shown below. That said, the information should prove helpful.

Inbound VoIP Calls can be either Conference Calls or Text-to-Voice Calls.

From a Locked Device

An incoming VoIP call to a locked device will display options to Decline or Answer the call. Your phone may reflect an incoming phone number, custom phone line name or a contact name - this will depend on your device, Android version and personal settings.

If you miss a VoIP call you will receive a missed call notification in the Teams app. If your account has an analog phone line associated with it, we'll also try a failover analog call. If you answer or decline a VoIP call, no failover call will be made.

Once the Connect Rocket Teams app loads, you will find yourself on the Voice page. From this page you can access the following functions:

  1. Mute/Unmute: allows you to mute or unmute the call. When muted, your microphone is disabled.
  2. Speaker: allows you to turn you speaker on or off.
  3. Leave: allows you to leave an active VoIP call. You will not end a VoIP call for other participants if you choose to leave.

If the inbound call is a Text-to-Voice Call and has a Poll associated with it, the Poll can also be answered directly on the Voice page from within the Teams app. Once you've answered the Poll, the call will be ended.

From an Unlocked Device

If you are actively using your device, the incoming VoIP call will move to the foreground and you will be presented with the option to Decline or Answer the call. Answer the call by tapping Answer.
