Understanding alphanumeric activation
Alphanumeric Activation is configured within each Workflow individually. You'll need at least one phone line on your account to use this feature.
See Configuring Workflows for step-by-step instructions.
Choosing a good activation code
Your code can be any combination of four letters and numbers. A few things to keep in mind:
- Choose a code that's easy to remember and easy to enter under pressure.
- Avoid codes that are too similar to others on your account — for example, 1000 and 1001 are easy to confuse when entering from a keypad.
- Each code must be unique across your account.
Placeholders and Alphanumeric Activation
Workflows with Alphanumeric Activation cannot use placeholders in notification messages. Because activation by telephone keypad or text message offers no way to update placeholder values before sending, notification messages must be fully written in advance.
If your Workflow needs placeholder support, activate it from the Dashboard instead. See Activating a Workflow from the Dashboard.
